My mother was a very special person. She was born on February 29, 1920. She was one of seven children, however, only one of five that lived a full life. Mom lived the fullest life of all of her siblings. She was the youngest, living the longest, and she counted each 1/4 and 1/2 year passing at 96 1/2 years young on October 11, 2016. However, being a leap year baby in birthdays mom was only 24 years old, and she celebrated her last leap birthday this year.

In the last 2 1/2 months of my mother’s life, I had the honor and privilege of spending her last days with her. For the majority of my life, I longed for her love and a close mother and daughter closeness. Although I felt I had come close, I also felt it fade, and it saddened me that I described our relationship as a “love/hate” one.

This experience has taught me a few life lessons that I plan on sharing through blogs, podcasts, seminars, and one-on-one conversations. I welcome you to follow along and share your thoughts and join in the journey.
